Everyone has something to give and every act of generosity makes a difference.

Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to be contagiously generous. On this day that is focused on generosity, you can give to our Breakthrough Annual Offering. Between now and Giving Tuesday, we are focusing on raising $10,000 for our Benevolence Fund for 2026.

With the current economic challenges that people in our church and community are facing, it is important for us as a church to have funds on hand to support families in need. One of our core values is being Community Targeted, and we want to make sure we can meet needs when they arise. You can be part of that. Read some testimonies of people whom we have helped with our Benevolence Fund.

"The definition of family is a group of individuals living under one roof and under one head. Some families are connected by blood, and others—like our City United Church family—are made up of believers from all walks of life, each with their own unique story.

Over the past couple of years, our immediate family has walked through several trials and difficult seasons. There was job loss, the passing of loved ones, and the constant challenge of trying to juggle everyday life in the midst of it all. During those hard times, City United Church came alongside us and walked through each challenge with steadfast love. Without hesitation, they stepped in—helping with our electric bill, providing food for our family, and blessing us with gift cards.

While every one of those gestures was incredibly generous and deeply appreciated, the most impactful part was the love and grace they showed us every single day. That is what strengthened us the most.
Jesus is the head of the Church—the head of our family—and we wouldn’t have it any other way."

Testimony #2

"In September of 2025 I was told 2 weeks prior to a scheduled surgery that I had to come up with 80% of my copay to have the surgery. Well, I was worried about it, and I asked the church to pray for funding for me as I would never be able to come up with that kind of money as a single woman with a low paying job. They church reached out to me and told me about the Benevolence Fund. I applied for that and God provided those funds through the Benevolent Fund.

The assistance helped me with a much better recovery, and I was not concerned about the money. I was so thankful that they helped with this process. I am very thankful for this church. I’ve been through a lot. They've been there for other situations as well. This one step of help paying this bill was very helpful. I am on the road to recovery from the surgery and doing very well.

Thank you City United and the staff for helping supply the needs for my surgical procedure.
I am thankful and feel loved."
